The National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) blocked stretches of highway in Oaxaca and Chiapas, as part of the intensification of their protests against the education reforms. In Chiapas, the CNTE blocked four entrances towards Tuxtla Gutiérrez. The Federal Police reinforced its presence in Oaxaca with 4,000 officers, which appears to have guaranteed free transit.
In Oaxaca, some of the mobilizations began early Tuesday night, when they placed a roadblock in the middle of Hacienda Blanca, an intersection that connects various important roads in the capital of Oaxaca.
The CNTE maintains a presence in various roads in at least five of the eight regions of Oaxaca.
