Mexico City Congress (ALDF) today announced the decrees granting the medals to Citizen Merit, as well as in Science and Arts.
The announcement, published in the Official Gazette of the capital, states that the Medal of Citizen Achievement 2017 will be given to Dr. Alicia Ziccardi Contigiani and Manuel Perló Cohen, for their various contributions in support of Mexico City and its people.
Regarding the Medal of Merit in Sciences and Arts corresponding to 2016, the document states that in the area of science Alfonso Escobar Izquierdo will receive recognition for neurosciences and Julieta Fierro Gossman for Divulsion of Scientific Knowledge.
In biotechnology, the award will go to Sergio Revah Moiseev, in medical sciences to Patricia Elena Clark Peralta and the Aerospace Innovation Award will be given to Sergio Viñals Padilla.
In the arts category, Enrique Krauze Kleinbort, Héctor Aguilar Camín, Héctor de Mauleón and Paloma Saiz Tejero will receive medals for writing, and María Victoria Cervantes Cervantes will be awarded in the Creation and Interpretation of Performing Arts category.
In visual arts, José Luis Cuevas, Manuel Felguérez Barra, Martha Chapa Benavides, Adriana Argelia Ramírez Labastida, Francisco Mata Rosas and Pedro Valtierra will be awarded.
For architecture, Javier Sordo Madaleno Bringas and Teodoro González de León (posthumous) will be awarded. In music, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Enrique Arturo Diemecke Rodríguez, Los Ángeles Azules, Maldita Vecindad and Panteón Rococó are set to be recognized.
