Citibanamex Will Participate in the Gay Pride March in Mexico City

After raising the rainbow flag in one of its branches in Mexico City, Citibanamex announced that this year will participate in the 39th edition of the LGBTTTI Pride March in the Mexican capital.

The financial institution is part of the Pride Connection network and, as part of its support for sexual diversity a contingent of 350 employees will join the Pride March along Paseo de la Reforma next Saturday, said José Francisco Pérez López.

The member of the LGBTI Pride Network of Citibanamex said that their involvement supports the company’s commitment to encouraging tolerance and equality among its employees, which fosters an inclusive work environment.

“This allows us to be part of the social and cultural changes that are being lived in Mexico,” said Pérez López, noting that it is also an important part of its quality as one of the best places to work in Mexico’s financial system.

Pérez López said that the institution has maintained a more inclusive attitude since June 2016, for both for heterosexual and gay parents, having updated employee’s rights to have 42 days of paid leave when adopting a child.

He explained that the benefit is granted to anyone who has the role of primary caregiver or parent.

The children have access to the same medical service and insurance that their parents enjoy, he said.

With the motto “Respect my family, my freedom, my life”, the LGBTTTI Pride March will send a message of struggle, commitment and solidarity to Mexico on Saturday.

Half a million people from both Mexico and other countries are expected to attend.
