The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) imposed a 5.6 million pesos ($281,000) fine on Chivas de Corazón S.A. de C.V — the business name for a provider of television and internet services known as Chivas TV — according to a process started last August due to flaws in service and clause changes to subscribers without prior notice.
Profeco stated that the fine is the result of the Process on Law Infringement started on Aug. 12 due to broadcast flaws reported during the transmission of the Chivas vs. Monterrey game on July 23. Also, the Guadalajara-based company made unilateral changes in contract clauses which led to information requirements on July and August.
