Gov. Roberto Borge Angulo, accompanied by Mayor Paul Carrillo de Cáceres and Deputy José Luis Medina, opened a teaching building and a covered athletic court at the Technological University of Cancun (UTC). The new installments used an investment of around 32 million pesos ($1.7 million) and will benefit more than 3,000 students, teachers and administrators.
The governor delivered vehicles to the educational institution and said that his administration keeps education as a top priority. He said that this year more than 1.2 billion pesos will be invested in educational infrastructure.
Borge Angulo highlighted the work of rector Leslie Hendricks Díaz and the university community.
Héctor Arreola Soria, general coordinator of the Technical and Polytechnic Universities of the country, congratulated Borge Angulo for the work he has done during his administration in favor of higher-level education.
“Today we have new teaching buildings, a new cafeteria and new and better sporting facilities,” Hendricks Díaz said.
