A fight at the Monterrery prison left one dead and 15 injured Thursday

A fight at Topo Chico Prison in Monterrey, Nuevo León left one dead and 15 injured, six of them critically, on Thursday.

Social media reports say that authorities are trying to control the situation.

The fight occurred the day that the Nuevo León’s governor, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, made his first report on the state of Nuevo León. Security Secretary Cuauhtémoc Antúnez left the ceremony to address the Topo Chico incident.

Last February, the deadliest prison riot in recent Mexican history at Topo Chico left at least 49 dead. That riot was the first major crisis faced by Governor Rodríguez Calderón.
