THURSDAY
Kickstart your weekend with Cumbia at the Posada Cumbiera at La Bipo Roma. The event is being organized by TodoBien Estudio and Cumbialandia and will feature a lineup of DJs including Disque DJ and DJ Reyes. Entrance is free.
FRIDAY
For a darker holiday celebration, head to Teatro La Capilla for the Best of Antinavideños. A compilation of 16 stories directed by Boris Schoemann and Angélica Rogel, this night of narrative theater brings together the most sinister stories of the holiday season. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are 200 pesos. You can buy them here.
Berlin dj YokoO (Julien Beltzung) will be coming to Foro Normandie for a night of dancing and lights. A combination of sugar-pop and techno-house will keep you dancing with YokoO until Christmas Eve. Doors open at 11 p.m. and the cover is 150 pesos, which also includes punch.
SATURDAY
In the Zócalo there will be a Christmas dinner put on by the city government. Surround yourself with others who are also celebrating — there will be over 10,000 dinners made. The dinner is free.
There will also be over 52 free light shows in the Historic Center this weekend as well. And 23 metal trees will be lit up. The shows last around 15 minutes.
SUNDAY
The city also began construction of an ice skating rink earlier this month. For those who are missing northern traditions, head over and skate underneath the 70m tall Christmas tree. Last year the rink was visited over 600,000 times.
