The district government in Tlalpan inaugurated the Council of Cultural Promotion and Development with the participation of various artists, writers and cultural promoters. The organization will look to develop and boost projects and programs that benefit the communities of Tlalpan.
Accompanied by figures from the artistic and cultural community including Pago Ignacio Taibo II, Ofelia Median, Sergio Ricaño, Cristián Calónico y Laura Rocha and among others, Sheinbaum Pardo announced ambitious cultural projects that will be put into march this year.
“What we want is to be part of these projects, to advise on them, to link them to the district government, to form part of the planning of these projects and have mutual communication on them,” stated the delegation.
The council announced the creation of four Centers of the Arts and Trades in various parts of the delegation, the return of the Ollin Kan Festival, an International Book Fair, as well as the Festival International Tlalpan (Tradition and Vanguard in Ibero America.)
The construction of the Centers of the Arts and Trades will take place in the neighborhood Cultura May, Mesa los Hornos and the town of San Miguel Xicalco. Also planned are four maintenance and remodeling projects to facilities that already exist in the neighborhood of Miguel Hidalgo, with the objective of bringing the creative trades to the most vulnerable communities.
