Under the legal premise that no one is forced to do the impossible, the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) in the Chamber of Deputies considered that the arbitrator’s decision to temporarily postpone, rather than cancel, the activities related to the Revocation Consultation Mandate, is in accordance with the budgetary reality that the majority of Morena and its allies in this House approved last month in next year’s economic package.
“From the Parliamentary Group of the PRD in the Chamber of Deputies we endorse our trust in the National Electoral Institute (INE) and we make a respectful, but energetic call, so that – from the Government Bodies of this sovereignty – act with restraint and not with partisan overtones”, indicated the legislators.
They stated that respect between the Autonomous Powers and Institutions of the Mexican State is essential to guarantee the correct course of national affairs.
They recalled that since the debate regarding the 2022 Federation Expenditure Budget, the PRD warned of the impossibility of carrying out a Popular Consultation, as established by the Constitution, without allocating the sufficient resources required by the electoral authority.
“We endorse our willingness to dialogue; We agree that it is essential that the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation -based on the resolution of the Controversy filed by the INE in relation to the budget to carry out said exercise- rule on the matter; and we endorse our unrestricted defense of the autonomy of the Electoral Body and its members, in the face of any attempt to undermine it”, indicated the PRD members.
