The Secretary of Public Education, Delfina Gómez, announced that for three days more than one million education workers have received the reinforcement of the covid-19 vaccine.
Despite this, he called on teachers and other staff to participate in the process; follow health protocols, and carry out the necessary actions based on the context of each community, to maintain the provision of educational services.
When supervising the vaccination of educational personnel at the Higher Technological Institute of Zacapoaxtla, in the state of Puebla, the head of the SEP highlighted the support of the Health Secretariats; Welfare, and Security and Citizen Protection, who, he said, serve not only teachers but all citizens, and are part of a very large group of collaborators whose sole purpose is to help.
Continuing with her tours of schools and vaccination centers in the northern highlands of the state, the Secretary of Education assured that the federal government demonstrated that the educational sector is a priority, because after the elderly and the health sector, it was the next to be considered within the National Vaccination Strategy.
Later, he visited the Nezahualcóyotl indigenous education preschool, in the community of Tatoxcac, where he invited parents to be part of the return to face-to-face activities, “because there is nothing like the contact that children have with teachers, to strengthen the socioemotional component of education.
During his tour, he verified the rehabilitation work on the school’s infrastructure, which was carried out with the support of the La Escuela es Nuestra program and represented an investment of 400,000 pesos.
Delfina Gómez indicated that this program reflects the sense of collaboration promoted by the federal government and the participation of mothers, fathers, students and teachers, in addition to generating sources of employment for the community itself.
