In the first week of March the country’s international reserves increased $82 million to add a balance of $176.9 billion, said the Bank of Mexico (Banxico).
Also, the central bank indicated that in the previous February the financial shield figured an increase of $660 million compared to January when it contracted $348 billion from the close of 2015.
The positive trajectory of international assets for the third consecutive week this month resulted from growth by $235 million reported before the change of valuation in the period, and the amount of which were discounted $153 million bought by the federal government for Banxico.
Despite the third rise in the country’s remittances, they continue introducing an accumulated decrease so far for 2016 of $638 million.
Regarding the performance of the monetary base in the previous week, the central bank explained that an expansion of 1.4 billion pesos, same with which came to a 1.2 trillion pesos, a balance involving an annual variation of 17.4 percent, while decreasing 47.5 billion pesos in the course of this year.
