MEXICO CITY — In Mexico City banks, the U.S. dollar is selling at a maximum price of 18.83 pesos, unchanged since the opening of exchanges Thursday, and it is being bought at a minimum of 18.04 pesos.
The euro’s value raised, to be sold at 21.07 pesos, a change of seven centavos in respect to is opening price, meanwhile the yen is being offered at up to 0.184 pesos per unit.
Grupo Financiero Ve por Más (Bx+), or the Go for More Financial Group, explained that members of the governing board of Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) mentioned that upcoming financial and monetary decisions by the United States could bring surprises, given the current divergence on rate expectations of federal funds from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).
They also stated that the main risk for inflation relapse has been presented with a heightened volatility in the currency market.
