Euro increases to 20.75 pesos, yen sold at 0.196

MEXICO CITY — In afternoon exchange trading, Mexico City banks are selling the U.S. dollar at up to 18.69 pesos, 19 centavos more compared to its opening, and buying it at a minimum of 17.86 pesos.

The euro is being offered at up to 20.75 pesos, representing an increase of 20 centavos, while the yen is sold at up to 0.196 pesos.

Contrary to analysts’ estimates at CI Bank, the peso fell by midday, even though Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) increased the interest rate by 50 points.
