On Thursday, the dollar lost 21 centavos from its historic peak the day before to close at a maximum of 20.06 pesos at Mexico City currency exchanges. Banks purchased the dollar for a minimum of 18.87 pesos.
The euro lost 16 centavos to close at 22.42 pesos, while the pound and yen closed at 25.98 pesos and 0.228 pesos, respectively.
Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) set the official exchange rate at 19.5965 pesos per dollar.
