MEXICO CITY — At the close of the exchange session Tuesday, Mexico City banks sold the U.S. dollar at up to 19.10 pesos, an increase of 40 centavos from the previous day’s close, and it was purchased at a minimum of 18.29 pesos.
The euro was offered at up to 21.11 pesos, rising 28 centavos since the previous session, while the British pound sterling closed up at 24.82 pesos. The yen reached a maximum sale price of 0.204 pesos per unit.
Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) placed the exchange rate to settle liabilities denominated in foreign currency payable in Mexico at 18.7536 pesos.
