The dollar was sold for 18.89 pesos at Mexico City banks at market close Friday, 19 centavos less than on Thursday. Banks purchased the dollar for 18.08 pesos.
The euro lost 25 centavos to close at 21.03 pesos, while the pound and yen were sold at 25.08 pesos and 0.196 pesos, respectively.
Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) set the official exchange rate at 18.6589 pesos per dollar.
